Pastor Jonathan Sanchez
Pastor Jonathan Sanchez was born in El Salvador and migrated to the Bay Area, Oakland where he was raised by his mother. He credits church youth activities and Pathfinders with keeping him busy and focus on God while growing up in a rough environment. Certain barriers prevented him from pursuing a career in engineering and fortunately, he ended up in Pacific Union College which lead him to canvassing and SOULS West.
In 2008 he was working under the Literature Ministries department focusing on Spanish GLOW with the Spanish speaking churches while finishing his general education classes to obtain his degree and then went on to Church Planting and Bible Work with the Dinuba and Reedley Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
He then went to Weimar College to finish his last theological courses and obtained his Bachelors Degree in Theology and graduated in 2013. While at Weimar, he accepted his first pastoral position for a small Spanish congregation at the Grass Valley SDA Church.
After graduation, he moved back to the Central Valley to work with the Central California Conference under Cesar De Leon in the Evangelism department where he recruited, trained and worked with bible workers for the conference and with pastors and evangelist.
In 2017 he became the associate pastor of the Ceres/Patterson district working under senior pastor Ted Baze. In the summer 2021, he transitioned to work with the Kern River Valley SDA church in Lake Isabella.
Under new Conference leadership he received a call to his current position as the interim pastor of Oakhurst and North Fork SDA churches.
We are blessed by and enjoy his sermons and his leadership.
